The following commentary, as well as the photos here, are his. Thanks for the contribution, Jacob, and the multitude of pictures! Like many of the suburbs in the Denver metro area, the city is relatively new, and has no old town or downtown area to speak of. In these suburbs, like many similar suburbs around the nation, the mall was the town center. Unfortunately, because of how densely packed the Denver Metro area is, each mall that went up in each suburb leeched the shoppers from the mall in the adjacent suburbs. If nothing changes, it looks as if the Westminster Mall may become the twelfth. Westminster Mall is special for me because it was the mall my family went to when I was young, from when I was born until I was about six when we moved. I remember quite clearly walking around the mall with my folks, and marveling at the quartet of hot air balloons that ascended and descended in the main court of the mall.

7 Unforgettable RV Parks in Colorado

Physical features Physiography For more than a thousand miles of its course, the Colorado has cut a deep gorge. Where the river system is joined by lateral streams—the Virgin, Kanab, Paria, Escalante, Dirty Devil, and Green rivers from the west, and the Little Colorado, San Juan, Dolores, and Gunnison from the east—a transverse system of narrow, winding deep canyons has been cut.

Each entering river and each lateral creek has cut another canyon, and thus the upper and middle parts of the Colorado basin are traversed by a labyrinth of deep gorges.

This group is for fans of cinema that’s not in the mainstream: indie, documentary, art house, foreign, classic. If you loved films like Boyhood, Citizen Four, Little Miss Sunshine, Blackfish, or Exit.

The Bow River downstream from the City of Calgary is well known as one of the premier blue ribbon trout streams in the world.

The forty miles of river Between Calgary and the hamlet of Carseland is home to wild rainbow and brown trout, some of which are of very large size. The river has somewhat limited access to the pedestrian angler and it is often floated to get access to waters that cannot be reached by crossing private lands.

Outdoor bouldering[ edit ] The characteristics of boulder problems depend largely on the type of rock being climbed. For example, Granite often features long cracks and slabs while Sandstone rocks are known for their steep overhangs and frequent horizontal breaks. Limestone and volcanic rock are also used for bouldering. Squamish, British Columbia is one of the most popular bouldering areas in Canada. Artificial climbing walls are used to simulate boulder problems in an indoor environment, usually at climbing gyms.

These walls are constructed with wooden panels, polymer cement panels, concrete shells, or precast molds of actual rock walls. In the US the most common method Routesetters use to designate the intended problem is by placing colored tape next to each hold. For example, red tape would indicate one bouldering problem while green tape would be used to set a different problem in the same area. For example, green may be v0-v1, blue may be v2-v3 and so on. Using colored holds to set has certain advantages, the most notable of which are that it makes it more obvious where the holds for a problem are, and that there is no chance of tape being accidentally kicked off footholds.

Smaller, resource-poor climbing gyms may prefer taped problems because large, expensive holds can be used in multiple routes by marking them with more than one color of tape. The rounds feature different sets of four or five boulder problems, and each competitor has a fixed amount of time to attempt each problem.

ERIE — There were no moving trucks pulled up to the door, no lines of employees exiting with boxes of personal effects, no real estate brokers with clipboards doing initial building inspections at this quiet industrial park on Young Court. Activity at Magpul, the largest manufacturer of ammunition magazines in Colorado, appeared normal Wednesday morning. But that industrious calm likely will change soon, after Gov.

John Hickenlooper signed into law Wednesday a series of gun-control measures — most notably HB , which limits ammunition magazines to 15 rounds or less. Magpul, which has its offices and manufacturing facilities in a nondescript building at Young Court in Erie, warned lawmakers last month that it would leave Colorado if the magazine-limits bill became law.

It would be hypocritical, the company has said, for it to remain in a state where it could no longer sell high-capacity magazines to gun owners.

When you say, “Colorado,” your first thought is probably of its hulking fourteeners (the term for mountains whose elevations top 14, feet, of which the state has a whopping 53)—not of a.

Print Colorado Springs has always leaned hard on its reputation for natural beauty. Gone were weekend bus service and nine buses. Nearly two-thirds of voters said no. In response, city officials some would say almost petulantly turned off one out of every three street lights.

My only key work requirements are a good phone line, a solid internet connection and a major airport within driving distance well, a quiet room and a pot of coffee are pretty important as well. After a lot of data gathering, analysis and pro-con list making, my wife and I have chosen to relocate from Ann Arbor, Michigan to Pueblo, Colorado. Within Colorado and perhaps elsewhere, Pueblo has a somewhat unfavorable reputation due primarily to a relatively weak economy that has struggled since the decline of the steel industry in the s.

Although Pueblo still has a long way to go to regain economic vibrancy, I see significant progress and Pueblo currently presents, in my opinion, an unbelievable bargain. So, why is Pueblo such a great deal? In short, Pueblo offers a nearly unbeatable blend of 1 low cost of living, 2 beautiful weather, 3 outdoor recreation, and 4 modern amenities.

Cost of Living The cost of housing in Pueblo is unbelievably low. This past year I bought a 3 bedroom 1. But, aside from a complete bathroom redo, it was mostly cosmetic updating. It still needs exterior paint, some landscaping and a facelift for the detached garage but I already have it rented to a nice family.
